A good rule of thumb is if you can do the round trip in a day, send a message! We are very flexible on meeting times and even locations for our more distant customers. We are eternally grateful for your referrals and recommendations, which help us continue to do what we love while helping you keep your trucks on the road in all of these states and more!
Also on this page will eventually (hopefully) be pictures of customers trucks. Hardly anyone ever sends them, but we are putting the request out there - If you already have one of our transmissions, please send us a picture of your truck doing what it does so we can post it here!

Our History
Black Shepherd Auto (BSA) began life as a cross-country automotive transporter based in Southeastern PA. This eventually expanded to include buying Ford Superduty trucks to bring home on an otherwise empty back-haul for parts.
After a history in auto mechanics since the very early 1990's, and specializing in 1999-2003 Superduty and Excursion parts, we have zeroed in on the 4R100/E4OD transmission to make a highly reliable unit that won't break the bank. We have researched, developed and proof-tested many modifications that will increase the reliability and longevity of the 4R100/E4OD by eliminating its weaknesses.
Whether you have a daily driver, working truck, plow truck, fleet truck, or camping rig, we can build a transmission that will provide you years of reliable service... and we can do it for MUCH LESS than our competitors.
